Jeff Zimmerman, Principal Architect

Zimmerman & Associates (Z+A)

Jeff is an accomplished Bay Area architect with a distinctive track record designing for older adults. Working on a wide range of projects, from affordable housing to assisted living and dementia care, his firm has established a new prototype for efficiency, safety and beauty in living spaces for older adults.

Among the many award winning senior housing projects Z+A have designed and brought to fruition are the Elders Inn and The Lodge assisted living communities in Alameda. Z+A’s design for Elders Inn won Best Design New Construction from Long Term Living Magazine and a Gold Nugget from the Pacific Coast Builders Conference. Z+A has also partnered with several not-for-profit clients on projects throughout Northern California. They are soon to break ground on a mixed project in Half Moon Bay that will house a city run senior community center, adult day center and 40 low income senior apartments.

A devotion to high quality senior care and community living environments is a family legacy for Jeff. Through his work on senior care communities with his brother Chris, he has developed an acute understanding of residents’ needs and feels it is a privilege to provide high quality environments offering beauty and dignity to residents.
